This spotlight will focus on the Regina City Police. The students will have an opportunity to spend the day at the Regina Police Service Headquarters at 1717 Osler Street in Regina. Students will hear from different departments of the Regina Police Service as to the type of work they do and the training they receive. Students will also learn about the training process and describe the characteristics that they are looking for in a candidate. Students will eat lunch in the classroom.
For this spotlight students will participate in the Civil Engineering Technologies program at the Saskatchewan Polytechnic campus at Moose Jaw. Students will be given a hands on introduction to concrete and soil testing processes used in civil engineering design projects. In the water lab students will experiment with soil porosity to gain a better understanding of how water moves underground through different soil types.
This half day spotlight will focus on the career opportunities in the Engineering Department of Sask Tel. Through presentation and tours, students will learn about day-to-day routines, types of skills that work best in that area and also career opportunities at Sask Tel.

This spotlight will focus on the career opportunities in LAW. The students will spend the morning at KMP Law in Regina (2600 Victoria Avenue). The day will begin with arrivals and introductions. Students will then attend the traffic safety court (1815 Smith Street). They will then proceed to the Saskatchewan Queen’s Bench Courts/Court of Appeal for Saskatchewan (2425 Victoria Avenue).
This spotlight will focus on careers in the dental field. Students will start the spotlight at Campus Regina Public with a pizza lunch and will then be bussed to the Regina Lakeview Dental Centre with Dr. Drew Krainyk to hear about the field of Dentistry with a focus on the role of the Dentist. Students will then spend the afternoon at Sask.
SOLDIER FOR A DAY is a program designed to give students the opportunity to learn more about military training and career opportunities in the Canadian Forces Army Reserve. Emphasis is placed on building confidence, teamwork, and self-discipline. Soldier for a Day will take place at the Regina Armoury - 1600 Elphinstone St.
This spotlight will focus on careers in the Construction Sector and is made possible through our partnerships with Saskatchewan Construction Association, Graham Construction, Regina Construction Association, Alliance Energy, All-Rite Mechanical, Regina Trades and Skills Center, Sask. Polytechnic / WITT, Saskatchewan Construction Safety Association, and Saskatchewan Apprenticeship and Trades Certification Commission.
This spotlight will focus on urban planning processes and the careers of the people who plan our city: urban planner, traffic engineer, landscape architect, heritage consultant and building inspector. Students should be interested in city planning, infrastructure engineering, and/or municipal government. The day will be hosted by the City of Regina Planning Department at City Hall, 1790 Victoria Avenue.
