RDIEC Executive Director:
Gordon Heidel spent 30 years in education working as a PAA teacher, Work Study coordinator, Learning Leader, Consultant, PAA Coordinator at the Ministry of Education and most recently Executive Director of the Regina District Industry Education Council. He was Vice Chair of Skills Canada Saskatchewan for 15 years and also served on the Saskatchewan Apprenticeship Commission Board of Directors. He is currently co-president of the Saskatchewan Career and Work Education Association and is passionate about connecting students with business and industry.
Renette Edgar spent 31 years in education. The first half of her career was spent as an elementary school teacher. In 2001 she took on the role of itinerant career counsellor and finished her last three years as the Career Education / PAA Consultant for Prairie Valley School Division.
Renette has been retired for the past year but looks forward to her new role as program facilitator for RDIEC.
Taught in the Regina Public System for 31 years at Usher Collegiate, Johnson Collegiate and Balfour Collegiate. Developed the Work Experience program at Balfour and taught the class for 11 years. Erwin retired in 2009 and worked with Saskatchewan Construction Association for 7 years, during that time his main role was Employment Programs and Career awareness in the skilled trades for youth.
