This spotlight will focus on Regina Fire & Protective Services. The students will have an opportunity to spend the morning at Fire Department - # 6 Fire Station, 303 Rink Avenue.
Members will provide the students with an overview of the services offered by the fire department, the fire-related risks which exist within the community. Members will also explain the firefighter training and hiring process and describe the knowledge and skills required when applying to a fire college. The students will also experience a couple of basic firefighting skills that are used in firefighting work. They will provide an overview of the department’s hiring process once a candidate has graduated from a fire college, including the required - qualifications, testing process, fitness assessment, job-related performance tests and interviews.
